  5. Blustery weather through much of the week – temps have dropped noticeably and snow is beginning to accumulate in earnest. Duane’s crane revival tent has shielded him from the elements, allowing him to complete his overhaul of the Galion’s engine and start it up for testing (purred like a contented elephant seal). The 440 snowmobile was moved into the boatshop from the glacier for work on the clutch. Number three generator (D-333) was put on line for a day and performed perfectly. A rambunctious bergy bit ripped one of the vertical timbers off the dock face. Fortunately it was one of the old ones – in fact the next beam in line for replacement. Pat and been crafting cabinets for blankets and linen in the GWR building. New quick-kleen (Pat Pending) filters were installed on the drains of all five krill tanks. (This pleased the Krill). Jerry is organizing USARP supply (100 per cent improvement) and miraculously removed the clutter from behind the GWR sprinkler water tank, opening up a wealth of storage space. Joh Wells completely overhauled two teletype units. He installed new printers and stunt box modifications. Allen continues to work on his food inventory and is compiling facts and figures which will be useful in programming Hero/Palmer food for next season. The winter resupply effort has been gathering momentum. Inventories and requirement lists are being generated by all hands. Jerry has completed his medical inventory, and others are forthcoming. The biweekly Los Ciegos Guiando Los Ciegos polar spanish class has been pulling in a full house every week. Station morale is high and our collective blood pressure is down (honest). Next week: What does a stunt box do? (it magically puts little phrases in parentheses). Happy Easter,
